Chikumbutso Mtumodzi has always stressed that Malawi it’s the only country in the world where he is not called a foreigner, as such there is need to fully and whole heartedly devote his time and energy being part of the team to launch the first ever Fashion Week in Malawi.

Chikumbutso a journalist by training is a holder of Masters Degree in Management and currently a Master in Public Administration – MPA candidate with Bolton University. His zeal and interest in Fashion dates back to the mid 90’s when he was writing entertainment stories and involved in similar activities like the Miss Malawi Beauty Contest event. He believes that Malawi has huge talent and skills in its people, who can bring the much a wanted fashion week philosophy in the process creating space for the country in the global village.

Mtumodzi who is the Executive Chairperson of African Dzuwa and the fashion week respectively, will give hints on trendy Men and grooming during the fashion week. He will tackle the ideal wardrobe of a modern man and how a today man should dress and take care of himself. He believes that the way one dresses is the way one wants to be treated and portrayed. He insists that men have a huge role to play in the fashion world and that fashion is not only a woman affair. The executive Chairperson has always dreamt of having a fashion week in Malawi. This is a dream come true and he is living his big dream.

“Am excited to be part of the galaxy in launching this noble and grand showcase, from today Malawi has joined the ranks of nations who treasure and love fashion” say Mtumodzi who has worked as Presidential Press Secretary for late Dr Bingu wa Mutharika for 7 years and Director of Information. Currently, he is a Senior Deputy Secretary in the Government of Malawi.
