Malawian Airlines Limited will, on Sunday, February 16, receive its second and biggest aircraft from Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-800.

According to the Malawian Airlines public relations officer, Maganizo Mazeze, the Ethiopian Airlines, with 49 per cent stakes in the local airline company while Malawi Government has a 51 per cent share, will deliver the plane at a function to be held at the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.

“The delivery of the plane, a new generation Boeing 737-800, with two configurations, has a 154 seat capacity. It will launch its first commercial flight to Johannesburg on Monday, 17 February, 2014.

The Majete project has proven to be an immense success since 2003 when the Government of Malawi entered into a 25-year public private partnership with African Parks for the rehabilitation, development and management of the Reserve.

Four Seasons is proud to announce that they are partners with Earth Day Network Global.

As a result, they are celebrating Earth Day 2013 at Four Seasons in Lilongwe.

The focus this year is the Face of Climate Change and they’ve brought this concept home.

Earth day falls on April 22nd, and they will use that day to launch a Lilongwe-wide waste management and sanitation campaign with their partners.
