When to change spark plugs?:

1. Engine has a rough idle Your engine idles when it is a stationary and in this position the engine normally produces around 1000rpm. The sound the engine gives off is constant and smooth but if your spark plugs aren’t performing as they should, your engine will produce a rough and jittery sound while producing larger vibrations through the car. The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has opened a Voluntary Declaration Window (VDW) to allow motorists possessing un-cleared vehicles to pay Customs duties without being charged any penalty.

The window opens on 1st November, 2018 until 28th February 2019 and motorists possessing un-cleared vehicles are encouraged to vol­untarily make declarations for proper Customs clearance processes.

Most of these un-cleared vehicles were either smuggled into Malawi or their Temporary Importation Permit (TIP) expired and they were registered fraudulently.  The window provides an opportunity to owners of these vehicles to pay Customs duty without being charged…

The President of Malawi, Joyce Banda,  Saturday in Lilongwe, Malawi, reaffirmed her country’s support to carry out the objectives of SADC, stipulated in the charter on the creation of this institution.

Joyce Banda who was speaking at the opening of the 33th summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), said that the country will engage in promotion of peace, political stability and improve the living standards of citizens.

A president, who is taking up the destinies of the organisation for a one year period, said she will rely on the support of all member States in the continued implementation of the projects.

Kenya Airways to start a new dedicated route between Lilongwe and Lusaka

Kenya Airways (KQ) has received approval from the government of Malawi that will see the airline operate between the capital Lilongwe and Lusaka in Zambia from June 3.

This is after it was given the Fifth Freedom Traffic Rights which allows an airline to carry revenue traffic between foreign countries as a part of services connecting the airline’s own country.

That means KQ will now have the unique role to pick up passengers in Lilongwe and drop them in Lusaka and vice versa.
