We received this important message in our inbox, forwarded from *Muriel Durand and thought it would be better to share it with our readers at

“I am writing on behalf of the medical community here in Lilongwe, as a pediatrician working at Kamuzu Central Hospital. As many may know, it is malaria season, as well as the “hungry season”, when many children are being admitted with severe and life-threatening anemia. Unfortunately, the supply of blood to the pediatric department has been erratic, and there are often shortages. I am writing to plead with people in the LLW community to donate their blood to the transfusion center. It is safe, hygienic, and it will literally save the lives of these children.
The centre is located on the road to KCH. After passing through the roundabout onto Mzimba Street, it is the first building on the left-hand side.

Thank you so much for your help in this urgent matter!”

Here is the map as described in the message above.
